My collection of knives has been growing recently and I went from the Henkel’s set with German steel made in Spain to now have 3 recent editions: 1 Kuma damascus steel chef’s knife, 1 Global G-2 8-inch cast iron pan/chef’s buddies combo utensils (it does both), And lastly a Kyoku Damascus nakiri. Between these four tools they are all very sharp but after only using my new acquisition for less than 24 hours, the cutting edge on its second oldest blade got dented. The heft is really nice when handling them compared ot some lighter weights however there was initially something about holding onto this specific weight that just didn’t feel right; It felt awkward. The blade also seems a bit too thick, making it difficult to make precise cuts.

Yes. Global knives have been around since the 80s, but their heritage goes back much further than that. Quite a bit to be exact - all the way down into ancient Japan where skilled craftsmen made strong and sharp swords for Samurai warriors who saved them on battlefields during battles centuries ago! The principles behind these same tasks are still used today when designing everyday tools or kitchen cutlery at our company’s Tokyo factory.
Are Global knives stamped or forged?
The vast majority of Global knives are stamped. This includes our popular G-series and most of the Classic series as well. The main exception to this is our heavier duty chef’s knives like the GF-33 and GSF-30, which are forged from a single piece of steel.
